Thank you to everyone who helped at the mock meet and came to cheer on our swimmers! I thought it ran smoothly and was a great opportunity for us coaches to refresh our memories on all the things we need to do in preparation for the meets.
I am really impressed by how well the kids swam and their positive attitudes!
I made notes on things we need to work on during practices over the next few weeks. I can’t wait to see how much they improve! 

If you have not already logged into your swim team accounts and declared whether or not your swimmer(s) will be available to swim at our 1st meet, Tuesday, May 26th, PLEASE do so by 12 pm TOMORROW.
Unlike the mock meet, there is strategy that goes into putting together a meet line up and determining if we have enough swimmers to put together relays and a good bit of the coaches time goes into it. Additionally, we have to “exchange line ups and merge our entries” with the other team’s entries in advance, per the league rules, so that we can combine heats when possible and sometimes even events. That allows for the meet to run more efficiently and allows us to finish the meet within a reasonable amount of time. All of the 30 seconds here, minutes there, and 2-4 minutes on relays can easily add up to an hour or more.
